Petal It Forward

2025

Research shows that having fresh flowers at home reduces stress, improves mood, and makes spaces feel more inviting. The secret isn’t a special occasion. It’s just flowers.

Want to make every day special?

About Us

That Flower Feeling is an independent, national marketing association and foundation for the U.S. floral industry.

Founded in 2021 by the CalFlowers Association, we became a fully independent 501(c)(6) in 2025 — a major milestone for unified growth across the industry. We're funded entirely by voluntary contributions from the floral industry.

our Campaign

Just Add Flowers is a campaign built on a simple truth: flowers make a difference in our lives. They aren't just for the big moments — they're for the quiet ones too. The happy and the sad, and everything in between.

Flowers bring instant joy, offering easy self-care that asks nothing of you but a moment of intention.

They invite mindfulness, too — a gentle nudge to pause and feel more present right where you are.

In home decor, flowers bring a fresh, alive energy that transforms any room. And as gifts, they're a simple, powerful way to celebrate, encourage, or say thank you — no special occasion required.

Self-care. Mindfulness. Decor. Gifting. Weave these four pillars into everyday life, and flowers naturally become part of how you live, feel, and connect.

Flowers Aren't a Once a Year Purchase.

Somewhere along the way, flowers became something reserved for apologies and anniversaries, birthdays and graduations. We made flowers a reward for life’s biggest chapters, and in doing so, we stopped letting them show up for the everyday ones.

It’s time to change that.

Flowers aren’t a splurge. They’re one of the simplest, most affordable ways to make your daily life feel more intentional.

Pick some up at the grocery store, or stop in at your local florist — however you get them, the occasion you've been waiting for is today. Make every day a little better by adding flowers.

Ways To Just Add Flowers

1

Add Them to Your Grocery List

Flowers live right next to the produce section for a reason. Toss a bouquet in your cart the same way you grab your favorite snack. Many grocery-store stems are affordably priced and can last the whole week.

2

Don't Show Up Empty-Handed. Your Local Florist Has You Covered.

Next time you're invited somewhere, whether it's a dinner party, a housewarming, or just a movie night, skip the wine and bring flowers instead. They're just as accessible, far more memorable, and a quick stop at your local florist turns a simple bouquet into an elevated gift experience — custom-wrapped and one-of-a-kind.

3

Upgrade Your Workspace

A small bud vase on your desk does more than look nice. Flowers and plants in a workspace improve focus, creativity, and problem-solving. Looking for a creative way to inspire your employees? Bring in a florist for a day to create custom arrangements for your employees. They'll love the gesture, and your entire office will smell amazing.

4

Create a Weekly “Flower Moment”

Make flowers a part of your week that you look forward to the most. Turn buying flowers into a ritual rather than an errand. Every Friday morning, every Sunday at the farmers market, every payday, make that your "Flower Moment".

5

Sign Up for a Local Flower Subscription

Are those subscription boxes getting a little old? Ask your favorite local florist if they offer a weekly or bi-weekly flower subscription. Many do, and it’s one of the easiest ways to make flowers a non-negotiable part of your routine. Not sure which local florist to choose from? We can help! We can help you find local flowers in your area.
